MicroZed Power w/ Breakout Carrier Card

Question

Hello, I have a system using the MicroZed Breakout Carrier Card Zynq System-On-Module. I went through the user guide (attached), and on page 15 it says that it takes power (5V) through the Micro USB. However, on page 5 there is a diagram with 5V inputs going into the connectors (CON1 & CON2) on the carrier card. Do you know if I can use connectors to supply power to the MicroZed? Thanks!

Hi Tyler,

The 5V from the microUSB on the breakout card gets passed to the MicroZed SOM through the connectors. Basically you can power the SOM and breakout carrier by either providing power to the SOM directly or to the carrier card. Using the carrier card as the input allows you to use the power switch, otherwise power will always be present when plugged in. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
