Increasing PYTHON 1300 frame rate by defining a ROI

Former Member
Former Member over 8 years ago

I am developing an imaging solution using the ON PYTHON-1300-C Camera Module with the Microzed, and successfully tested the "embv_p1300c" reference design. I need to improve the frame rate by defining a region of interest (ROI). Only setting the camera register values for ROI did not improve the frame rate but trimmed the image showing the region outside the ROI as blank.

I would like to know what are the steps I need to follow to get this done using the "ON Semiconductor VITA Camera Receiver(3.2)" IP. Is there any documentation on usage of this IP?

    Hello Yasuravithana,

Try taking a look at these resources,

    Hi

I have the ROI working at 80 and 500 FPS, the method I used was to configure the system to work from an external trigger, that is a trigger applied to the on semi block. This can be generated externally or from a the PS using a GPIO which is what I used. You also need to consider the size of the ROI for the frame rate ovbiously and the output timing but it seems to work ok for me

Let me know if you want to disucss more in detail about this
