We have just posted the MicroZed Carrier Design Guide to assist the community in designing and developing custom carrier cards for MicroZed.  This is a living and breathing document, so please reply to this post with any suggestions or desired additions.

    Tried accessing the Design Guide was not able to open the document. Question I had was is it possible to debug the PL designs on Microzed Zync7010 using USB cable and Chipscope

    Yes, you can debug PL designs on MicroZed. You will need a JTAG Programming Cable (Xilinx Platform Cable,Digilent HS1 or HS2 Cable. If you don't already have a JTAG Cable we recommend the Digilent HS2 Cable: http://www.em.avnet.com/en-us/design/drc/Pages/Digilent-JTAG-HS2-Programming-Cable.aspx

    What is the tolerance on the 5V input from the carrier? Can anyone verify that powering with 5.5V would be OK? 

    On a cursory inspection it seems to primarily go to a switcher, which can accept a reasonable range. What am I missing?

    The tolerance requirement is 10%, based on the max Vin of the MAX6037A voltage reference.  The max Vin of that device is 5.5V, so while you u201Ccouldu201D run it at 5.5V, you are pushing the limits.  The absolute max on the pins of the 6037 is 6V, but the max operating range is stated at 5.5V.

    One thing to consider would be that if you are NOT using the XADC header, you could remove L1 from the board.  Doing so would disconnect the input to the MAX6037 and the MAX8891, which only generate the reference voltage and 1.8V used by the XADC header.
