MiniZed board not detected by Vivado/SDK

Hello, I am currently experiencing a following issue:

I'm trying to get my MiniZed board started using Linux (more precisely a personalized version of LMDE, mostly compatible with Ubuntu). When I connect the board using a USB cable, it's properly detected by the operating system:

[  139.563349] usb 3-2: new high-speed USB device number 7 using xhci_hcd
[  139.707309] usb 3-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0403, idProduct=6010
[  139.707322] usb 3-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[  139.707323] usb 3-2: Product: JTAG+Serial
[  139.707324] usb 3-2: Manufacturer: Xilinx
[  139.707325] usb 3-2: SerialNumber: 1234-oj1
[  139.709214] ftdi_sio 3-2:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[  139.709260] usb 3-2: Detected FT2232H
[  139.709489] usb 3-2: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0
[  139.710870] ftdi_sio 3-2:1.1: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[  139.710902] usb 3-2: Detected FT2232H
[  139.711038] usb 3-2: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB1

Using `screen /dev/ttyUSB1 115200` I can successfully communicate with the pre-installed PetaLinux. I can't, however, use Vivado or Xilinx SDK to program/debug, even a simple code.

I tried following the MiniZed tutorials and basically stopped at the same point as mentioned in http://www.zedboard.org/content/sdk-cant-program-fpga-minized, which is the "Program FPGA" step.

I was successful in getting past that point on the same machine, but using Windows (which is NOT my preferred solution). I have checked the BSP settings in the Xilinx SDK and they seem consistent between operating systems.

Is there any additional guide how to setup the hardware server properly to use the board under Linux? I assume that the (Xilinx) Hardware Manager does not know that the JTAG is present at /dev/ttyUSB0.

For the record, I have imported the MiniZed board package and I'm running Vivado 2017.4.

    Hi,

Try downloading and installing the FTDI Driver on your machine.

Please see page 11 step 4 in the getting started guide. http://zedboard.org/sites/default/files/documentations/MiniZed-GSG-v1_1.pdf

    Hi

Thanks for the advice, but VCP FTDI drivers are built-in into Linux kernel, which I confirmed already.

    $ lsmod | grep ftdi
    ftdi_sio 53248 0
    usbserial 49152 1 ftdi_sio
    usbcore 249856 9 uvcvideo,usbhid,ehci_hcd,ftdi_sio,usbserial,xhci_pci,btusb,xhci_hcd,ehci_pci

The presence of the drivers in the kernel is also mentioned on the FTDI page linked in the GSG.
