board selection question

I like to purchase a development board for personal use, mainly to learn on the embedded processor side under petalinux. any recommendations? nothing too expensive. what the main difference between pico/micro board other than size?

I need help with Embedded SDR development board parts and SBC board that go with the development process.
I can buy PicoZed SDR SOM Z7035/AD9361 Development Kit. But my question is what else I need to buy in order to
do SDR development - I need help with all that I need including software if any
