Hi s002wjh,
For anyone looking to get started with Zynq, MicroZed is hands-down one of the best low-cost options out there. By purchasing the Eval Kit (look for part number AES-Z7MB-7Z010-G) you get a board that you can do embedded processor work on without needing a carrier board for 199USD.

If you decide to move onto doing work with the programmable logic, you can still do this without a carrier. The point at which you need a carrier is when you want to start using the programmable logic AND the flexible IOs that are attached to it.
At that point, if you are simply doing simple circuit prototyping, you might be able to utilize a MicroZed Breakout Carrier for 59 USD.
If you are looking to do low-cost peripherals like Pmods, then it is recommended that you look at the MicroZed I/O Carrier for 149 USD.
If you are looking to do high performance FMC expansion modules, then you will want to look at the MicroZed FMC Carrier for 149 USD.
The board sizes between MicroZed and PicoZed are actually the same. For PicoZed, many of the outside world connectors have been moved down to the carrier board so the PicoZed SOM has a lower vertical profile than MicroZed.

hi is AES-Z7MB-7Z010-G this microzed SBC?
http://microzed.org/product/microzed-sbc
the buy option only has part#, doesn't has description
thanks
This part number is the MicroZed Evaluation kit, which includes a 'standard' commercial temp 7010 MicroZed along with a node/device locked Xilinx Vivado tool voucher, a microSD Card and a MicroUSB cable. http://microzed.org/sites/default/files/PB-AES-Z7MB-7Z010-G-v3.pdf
AES-Z7MB-7Z010-SBC-G is the part number for a commercial temp 7010 MicroZed SBC SOM. It is the SOM only with no SD Card, cable or voucher. It is listed in a separate section on the 'Buy' page just below the MicroZed section.
If you click the 'Buy' button it will take you to a page with a description.
