I want to know if the XM104 FMC Connectivity Card is compatible with the PicoZed FMC Carrier Card. I am interested in the SATA interface.

Hi there,
The XM104 is a HPC FMC card. The PicoZed only supports LPC due to how it is wired out to all the other accessories. As such, there is only a subset of features that you can access. The one transceiver that passes from the PicoZed to the FMC is actually wired to the SMA connectors J3,J4,J5,J6 on the XM104.
You can see this by checking the XM104 schematic against the PicoZed Carrier Card Schematic.
There are enough transceivers on a PicoZed to run the SATA chips on the XM104 (2 needed for each), however I think you will need to create your own Carrier Card for this.

Although more expensive, the Mini-ITX has SATA as a built-in interface. That might be a good starting point to evaluate the technology, then you could move to PicoZed and a custom carrier as Dan suggests for production.
