Issue: PicoZED fmc Carrier V2 USB UART

Hello ,

I am using Picozed SOM 7030 and FMC carrier v2 and booting petalinux application using SDcard, but i can connect it using USB-UART to monitor on serial terminal.

I tried installing CP210X drivers for UBUNTU 16.04 it didn't work.

I installed it on WIN 7 x64 system too , but the COM port is not seen on the device manager.

Are there any hardware settings other than SW1 JP-5 , is there any other setting that can solve this problem kindly suggest! also if any other way to connect please suggest.

    Do you have a USB cable connected from J1 on the FMC2 carrier to your host PC?

     

    Does the blue FPGA DONE LED (D3) illuminate after turning on the board? 

     

    Does the PS LED D10 blink?

     

    Are you running Ubuntu v16.04 native or in a virtual machine?  If in a virtual machine, is the Silicon Labs CP2104 device selected for use in the VM?  For VirtualBox this setting looks like this screenshot:

     

    Does Ubuntu recognize that the USB UART device is present?  A simple way to check this is filter the Linux 'ls' command through 'grep' to search for the enumerated UAB UART devices:

    $ ls /dev | grep USB

    Do you have the serial port settings correct?  They should be 115200,no parity,8 bits, 1 stop bit (115200,n,8,1).

     

    Is the PicoZed SOM fully seated in the JX connectors?

    yes, i am using 16.04 no VM , finally i installed the drivers on win 10 system.

    its able to monitor throught USB UART,

    Although i will try install and using ls / dev
