GPIO PL mapping

Hi,
in the ZedBoard there is a mapping of LED0-7 and SW0-7 to gpio: 61 to 68 for LEDs and 69 to 76 for switches

Where is this mapping described within the Linux?

And how can I modify SW in order to map the buttons BTNU, BTND... to a gpio such that I can read the status of these buttons in the same way I can read SW0-7?

Where can I read a generic description of these HW/SW topics?

Regards

    Hi

The buttons cannot be mapped to GPIO because they are connected to the PL section.  If you want to use them there is a good tutorial available at the link below.  It's targeted at the zc702 evaluation board but if you change the constraints you can make it work for the Zedboard.

I had a look into  "ZedBoard Schematics Rev. D.2
16.May.13" on page 3 I can find all the peripherals. Following their names I can map them to banks of the Zynq (Shematic IC16A-I) How do I know which of those belong to the PS and which to the PL? Also What is the naming convention of Pins? The ones from LEDS are named T22,T21,U22,U21,V22,W22,U19 and U14 for LD0-LD7 asending.

Most LED/Button are linked to PL side, unless it is connected the Bank 500 in the ZedBoard schema (page 10).  For example, push button 1, is already connected to MIO 50.  If it's not already connected, you just have to reroute the signal using the constraint file.

LED and button pins assignment are listed in "Zedboard HW_UG guide."
