problems with release 14.3

hello,

I loaded R 14.3 both on Windows 7 and on Linux-Ubuntu 12.04

then to test it I followed the zynq geek hello world

I got no errors with the Windows version, but with Linux (on two different computers) when I launch the bit stream generator I always got this error:

[Edk 24-166] (generate target): failed to execute XPS script. Please check for any errors reported by XPS application in the console:
[/home/zedboard/working_area/xilinx_prj/zed_first_again/zed_srcs/sources_1/edk/proc_module/__xps/pa/_proc_module_synth.tcl]

in linux I launch planAhed as root

I have this error with linux under webPACK license, but I have no errors with windows 7 both with node locked and with web pack license

do I have to do some workaround?

       Roberto

Post Scriptum:
there is some mess with latin and chinese character in the blog

    Roberto,

I'll write up a "Bringing up 2012.3 on Ubuntu" How-to and see if I run into these same errors.  I had not seen anything like this with 2012.2.

    Hi zynqgeek,
    _
yes, I confirm I didn't had this problem with 14.2 and I do not have any error with 14.3 in Windows (webpack and node locked license)
    _
I just have this problem with two different ubuntu 12.04 systems (webpack license)
    _
I just tried your hello world example to test the 14.3 and I had that problem
    _
      Best regards,
    ____Roberto

    Hi Roberto,

I noticed after clicking on your post, that I too am now looking at pages with mixed Chinese characters.  Look for the English hyperlink on the top level forums page.

After clicking the "English" link, the forum contents should revert back to Latin characters for you.

    Regards,

    -Kevin

    Hi,

I had the same error in a Windows 7 machine.  For me it was caused by the file path being too long (because the tools decide to bury every file in a million sub-directories).  If this isn't the cause try looking at the "Tcl Console" at the bottom of the screen to see if there are any warnings/errors reported.

    Hi m.russell,
    .
I had no problems with Windows 7 64, I just have problems with Linux (Ubuntu) version
    .
I swapped back to release 14.2; apart that there is no direct management for the ZedBoard I think that is a better release
    .
    BR,
    .   Roberto

Had the same problem, the solution that worked for me: cd /usr/bin
    sudo ln -s make gmake

    I'm working on ubuntu 12.04lts
