PS-RST in SDK

Former Member
Former Member over 13 years ago

Hi,
I'm trying to restart the arm processor when I debug my software in SDK, but it doesn't work, and a error message shown.
I search for answer in www.xilinx.com, the answer I got below can't solve the problem because restart the arm processor may take several minutes.
http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/37619.htm

After went through the schematic, I found that the PS-RST is connect to the JTAG programming chip through the buffer. That means the reset signal is support by hardware. So anyone here know how to restart the arm processor in SDK?
That would be a great help for me.

    Hi y595906642,

I think you are correct that this is supported by the hardware signals that are present but I am not sure if this is currently supported by the tools or the onboard USB-JTAG.  The only plans I know of for this hardware reset would be through the use of the ARM DS-5 tools using DSTREAM.

We will soon be coming out with an adapter for the 20-pin ARM JTAG cable which should make ZedBoard compatible with ARM tools for software development/debug.

As for restarting the ARM processor from SDK, you could open a WebCase and see if there is a workaround for this in the existing tools.
