Debugging bare metal apps

Hi,

I am currently trying to port a private embedded OS to the ZedBoard, I got the UART working, but I am afraid it is not enough for a proper debugging solution.
Has any one succeeded already to debug applications on the ZB using OpenOCD and GDB?
Can any one point out a sort of tutorial for this process?

The solution is :

1 - Install the ftdi libs as pointed in the OpenOCD documentation
2 - Fetch and compile OpenOCD with FTDI support
3 - Fetch the ZedBoard config patch, along with the digilent smt interface

Then you are ready to go, you just need to execute OpenOCD on one terminal, and arm-*-gdb on the other
