standalone OS  reference design problem

I am trying to run the Zynq standalone OS embedded reference design on my MMP 7z045 eval board. In the Version 1 Aug 2015 instructions titled "Avnet Zynq Mini Module Plus Embedded Design", in section 7.3 Running the Memory Test, after I do the Run As > launch on Hardware GDB, I get SDK Application launcher window that says "Launch Failed, Binary not found. I followed all the instructions up to this point as written. Don't know what the problem is.

    Hi Triacs,

Please try using Vivado/SDK 2015.2, I have a feeling that will solve your issue. The documentation/project are targeted for 2015.2. Vivado/SDK tend to change ever so slightly from version release to version release. Things update and tend to break older designs. This is why we try to have multiple version release for each reference design/tutorial we offer.

I'll download 2015.2, but first I wanted to try the last thing you suggested. I right clicked on zynq_mmp_mem_test, and selected run as Launch on Hardware (system debugger).

In the SDK window I got

15:23:42 **** Incremental Build of configuration Debug for project zynq_mmp_mem_test ****
    make all
make: Nothing to be done for `all'.

    15:23:42 Build Finished (took 128ms)

Then it said Selected debug session already exists, Do you want to relauch the application. I said ok. Then about 10 seconds later:

Voila, it worked. I got a message on my realterm that said memory test passed.

To see what would happen if I repeated what the instructions said "Run As > Launch on Hardware (GDB)", even that works now. What do you think was causing my original problem?
