establish a communication link between pc and ZEDBOARD via USB

I am trying to establish a communication link between pc and ZEDBOARD via USB,I want transfer the data from zedboard to pc via usb, then save the data on pc.
    How should I do,anyone have done some similar thing,can you give me some advices or give me a refrence ?  thanks!

    When you are using serial terminal to connect to Zedboard's UART you are already "establishing a communication link between PC and Zedboardd via USB."

    So if you just want to get something up running quickly you can have something on your PC thats recording the serial communication.

    Otherwise, you can enable a second UART-port on Zedboard than use a USB-FTDI adapter to connect to your PC.
