Questions on zynq ultrascale+ mpsoc modules

Dear all,

 

Have some questions regarding Zynq ultrascale+ mpSoC modules in the store and was directed by Avnet online customer support to ask the questions here.

Questions is on 2 modules and 1 carrier board

 

the 2 modules and a carrier board  are

  1. AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-I-G
  2. AES-ZU-IOCC-G
  1. AES-ULTRA96-V2-I-G

few questions:

  1. Is AES-ZU-IOCC-G the correct carrier board for AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-I-G?
  2. Number of available user PS MIOs that user can reconfigure for AES-ULTRA96-V2-I-G?  It is provided 26 MIOs for AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-I-G but could not find similar information for AES-ULTRA96-V2-I-G in brochures.
  1. How long is leadtime for the AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-I-G, AES-ZU-IOCC-G and AES-ULTRA96-V2-I-G?
  2. How long will AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-I-G be available before end of life?
  3. Is the digilent jtag plug in adapter for fpga and jtag for arm side included with the AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM or AES-ULTRA96-V2 purchase??

    1. The AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-I-G can use both a AES-ZU-IOCC-G and a AES-ZU-PCIECC-G.  It just depends on your needs.  The Starter Kit uses the IOCC.  It has everything you would need to start with and has a bit of a price reduction vs buying separately. That would be AES-ZU3EG-1-SK-G.  More information on these can be found on the product support page, such as documentation, schematics, reference designs, manuals, etc. UltraZed-EG
    2. According to the User Guide "78 flexible multiplexed I/O (MIO) (configured as three banks of 26 I/Os) for peripheral pin assignment" (please see the Support Page: Ultra96-V2)
    1. Lead times are dependent on where you buy it.  I would suggest working with your local Avnet office.  You can also reference avnet.com The Ultra96 looks to be in stock and the UltraZed-EG also looks to be in stock.
    2. The UltraZed-EG falls under our policies, see this post here, which has all of our policies listed: Warranty, RoHS, and Lifecycle for Avnet SOMs/SBCs
      1. generally speaking, all of our products are targeted to 10 years after introduction
      2. Look through the policies, specifically SOM LifeCycle 2017and you will see many options in case we decide to stop selling our products
      3. I would have to look up an exact date, but the UZEG was introduced somewhere at the end of 2016.  It has minimally 5-6 years left, but it has strong sales.  It is a very popular board.  Refer to the policies as there are many options that would ensure you are not left without access to the SOM
    3. The UltraZed-EG comes with JTAG built in and the Ultra96V2 would need a JTAG pod AES-ACC-U96-JTAG
