Anybody is using it?

I have a problem, as it fail pretty early:

Summary: There were 5 WARNING messages.
[ERROR] mconf/conf command not found
ERROR: Failed to run gen-machineconf
ERROR: Failed to build project. Check the /AD1/PUB/PETA.2023.1/AVNET_UZ3EG_IOCC_BASE/uz3eg_iocc_base_2023_1/build/build.log file for more details...

And another one, is there the updated 2023.1 HW design somewhere too?

Hello,

Many board vendors do not maintain Petalinux BSP anymore because they are not really needed. It is easier and more reliable to create a .xsa file from a compiled Vivado design and reference it in your Petalinux build, like here: https://github.com/hdlguy/zuboard/tree/main/petalinux

It is this statement that reads in my xsa file.

petalinux-config --get-hw-description=../../implement/results/

You got me convinced, to just use the compiled Vivado designs ...

But, where do I find the Vivado projects for those boards?

Specially, the ones for the working Petalinux examples?

Hello, Follow these steps: https://www.hackster.io/AlbertaBeef/zuboard-building-the-foundational-designs-f114d5, not all of them just the beginning where you download / clone the repos.

Run the hdl/scripts/make_zub1cg_sbc_base.tcl, this will create thevivado project and the block diagram. Remember to download the 2023.1 branch

Few remarks, you could fix/add to your blog:

paragraph "re-Enabling the Cache"

I think there is a wrong path in

project-spec/meta-user/configs/petalinuxbsp.conf

it should be (at least in 2023.1)

project-spec/meta-user/conf/petalinuxbsp.conf

And I think other developers would appreciate the warning, that all this cache setup is important to check twice.

There is no warning, if the path/files don't exist, it just runs very slow again. If all caching works, the whole compile is done in minutes, without caching it is hours ...

And, I really appreciate the help here, and REALLY happy, that those boards are still supported somehow.

I have to clarify that is not my blog, but I am glad it was useful. I got myself a ZUBoard and I am in the same journey of figuring out things. You are right, that is a good observation. You should add in the commends of the blog that information so it gets recorded and other people can see it.
