Using JC1 and JD1

Hi,

i'm fairly new at this but i have some problem with using pmod's AD1 and DA1 with the JC1 and JD1 connectors. I managed to get the AD1 and the DA1 working with the connectors JA1 and JB1 using a reference design that i found on the internet and implement it in XPS and then importing that bitstream to SDK. But when i use the same code in XPS and SDK for JC1 it doesn't work.

Do i need another design for those connectors in XPS or in SDK or in both? If so, can someone tell me which and where I can find it?

    The default UCF for the Zedboard sets up JC and JD pins as differential pairs. The "_N" and "_P" suffixes have meaning. Just comment out those sections and redefine the pins as JE1..JE10, and JF1..JF10.

    If you're interested in what they do, read the LVDS article on wikipedia, for a start.

    And where do i write that piece of redefining code or logic? because i've been looking for a reference design that implements the JC1 and JD1 slots but i couldn't find one :s do you know how i write that code?

    In the case of JC1 and JD1: if i take the _N pin as a ground and the _P pin as a voltage input, then it will give me the difference between the two voltages but because the _N pin is always the ground it just give me the voltage on the _P pin. is this correct? If so, how do i implement this concretly?.
