Unable to consistently program Zedboard

We have been experiencing programming issues with the Zedboard. Attempting to reprogram the board when the board is left running for an extended period of time tends to fail. When it fails, the only way we have been able to successfully recover is to turn off the board and the computer attached to the board. We have experienced this on multiple boards and computers. This issue is extremely frustrating and any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated.

We are using:
Xilinx SDK 14.3
Xilinx Platform Cable II
Windows 7

Hi Nolan,

When programming the FPGA from SDK it tends to leave XMD (the process it uses to program the fpga) open and connected even when the board is turned off. Xilinx mention this in one of their documents and recommend that you turn the board off, close SDK, and then try again. You shouldn't have to completely shut down the computer. If this still isn't working for you make sure there are no XMD processes running in task manager.

Depending on what the ambient temperature in your lab is, you may be experiencing a heat-related failure.

Are you using the EMACPS Ethernet port? We are having problems with the receiver that stops working. When you do your FPGA programming, have you been using the Ethernet?
