I am thinking of using Zedboard and Maxim Integrated Fresno ADC and Carmel DAC together to make a simple feedback loop in a system. I haven't bought any of them yet. I will be connecting the ADC and DAC using 2 of the PL Pmods on the Zedboard (JA1 and JB1). Do you foresee any problem with this?
I am familiar with FPGAs, but have never used a Programmable SoC. Like an FPGA, can I use an HDL with Zynq?
In the Zedboard manual, it mentions a 100MHz oscillator for PL. I can use this clock in my program, right? Hence, Zedboard does not have to be connected to the computer for clocking?
Finally, can I set the SPI clock frequency to any value I want for the ADC and DAC connected through PL Pmods?
I would appreciate any answer to any of my questions!
