I started BLOGGING about the Element14 device I received but posted it to my WordPress BLOG but forgot about here. That BLOG is more generic and covers both the Azure Sphere device and the other device I'll be coding for and using in my deaf signal system I plan on building someday.
Sadly due to health issues, the work has been delayed. Bad enough my focus issues related to my High Functioning Autism (aka: Asperger's) and ADD. I have so many ideas and so much to design, it's NOT a simple system though the first device is nearly ready to build & test: wireless doorbell. Inputs to the wireless device (I have two) and would flash an LED indicating someone pressed the doorbell.
I have the hardware, just need to code / setup the Element14 device to receive the wireless signal (forgot the model name / number).
The Deaf Alert (well, no formal name as yet) is badly needed for myself but I lack funds to buy the individual signalers for the deaf / hard of hearing that I badly need. Plus I still have as yet to find a WHOLE house system. Just 'groups'. Development for the deaf and hard of hearing accessibility devices is slow and underfunded. Plus because sales are so low, prices are too high for the average senior, like myself, to afford! I also have physical disabilities that make such notification systems so important in my life as well as other fellow deaf / hard of hearing.
Since there is no search by device name in the 'heat map', my unit: "Element14board" is not able to be found. I live along the Hood Canal in Washington state and there is one that shows up but they say it's "Orem, WA" where there is no such town here. And I know maps are notoriously difficult in our area due to the remoteness and low population. My physical location name on maps is Triton Washington but it's just a spot with houses all around (about 3+ communities). Our post office is Lilliwaup, about where the green dot is on the map.
So, am I actually registered and counted for the contest? I'll have to do an inquiry since I'm not showing up.
BTW: I just turned 60 and am REALLY cursing today's technology failures!
