Any help in Philippines to purchase Azure kit?

Hello all (and particularly the Azure folks),

 

I am a Canadian and although the kit is not available in Canada, I am luck to be staying and volunteering here in the Philippines. I have long had my eye on the project and was excited a few months ago when the kits were finally available in the Philippines... sort of.

 

Between the "official" site/distributor in the Philippines and the upstream in Singapore, they are not much interested in my business, much less answering ANY of my email requests.

 

The kit is free in the Philippines (except shipping, of course), however to get the kit you need to have a "Trade account" for buying - no credit card option, no Paypal option, nothing. And even after emailing the concerned parties several times - no one even bothers to respond. Even if I was to try and BUY a kit for full price - same deal - "no Trade Account, no purchase"

 

Has anyone actually and successfully been able to get a kit here in the Philippines??

    Hey Clem, thanks but we've reached a dead-end. I guess those 6 people that got the kit were the lucky ones.

    I was chatting with a very helpful Tech agent at element14. Apparently the distributor decided they no longer wanted to take part in the contest and cancelled availability of the kits. Nice, hey!
