Azure Sphere MT3620 Starter Kit - Pre-Compiled Example Applications

pmossel

On page 38 of the Azure Sphere starter Kit User Guide V1.5 (Aug 19), the GPIO Test application refers to a precompiled app, AvnetDevBoardTestApp_ps.imagepackage, to sideload into the MT3620. On Page 39, there is a reference to another precompiled app, iperf3_ps.imagepackage, to sideload into the board to test with the Iperf3 server which I was able to download successfully. I am unable to find the precompiled packages. I can't find the source on the Avnet GitHub site either. I was interested especially in the iperf3 package to investigate the WiFi problems with the MT3620 that prevented me of being able to run the samples with Azure IoT Hub connectivity. Any suggestions?

pmossel Have you seen https://iperf.fr/iperf-download.php#source ? It may explain things a bit.

The iperf site has the source and executables to run the iperf server. I had no trouble installing that server.

My question was about the MT3620 package "iperf3_ps.imagepackage" that had to be sideloaded into the MT board. It would communicate with the iperf server to collect wifi stats. That package is referenced in the avnet doc but there is is no link to where to get it.

I am afraid no source was to be had. But looking at the server side, I am going to say you can infer some of the logic if this helps.

Two items to note in this context:

    1) The pre-compiled imagepackage files for iperf3 and AvnetDevBoardTestApp are not currently accessible.
A notification will posted once the new image files targeting the 19.09 OS have been shared

    2) Regarding "WiFi problems with the MT3620": The upgraded 19.09 OS has a couple of Wi-Fi enhancements that could clear this up for you

More detail on this in the recent 19.09 blog article on Element14, as well as in Microsoft's 19.09 Release Notes
