    This board will use the far range proximity technology to detect the status of our garage door and report it in the cloud.  The "cloud" in this case is a Pagekite providing a secure socket to our Raspberry Pi Home Automation House Hub inside our house. 

     

    With the WiFi, we'll use web sockets to then allow us to trigger the door open or shut remotely through the Alexa app on our iPhone.  See my e14 Blog for all the code.

     

    The camera will be used to capture a jpg to upload to Microsoft Azure's machine vision API to report back the entities in our garage such as number of humans or vehicles.

     

    Alexa Skill Intent:  Is the garage door open? 

    Alexa Response:  Yes.  I see a bike, blue car, and a male in his twenties holding a crowbar.
