Info on emulation

Hi there,

 

Where can i find more examples, or documentation of how full card emulation is done. We only get a example who emulates a type 2 tag but nxp claims that we can emulate Mifare Classic and Ultralight. I have been digging in the library code, but i really need some documentation on how we could emulate these protocols with the pn512 chip.

    it is not possible to emulate Mifare Classic card with the PN512. It would require a Mifare Crypto implementation in software which is not available.

    If you need to emulate Mifare Ultralight, then you are almost done. Mifare Ultralight is a Type 2 Tag, hence the provided example shows you how this can be done. Basically if you want to emulate a certain tag / NFC card, you'll have to implement it's command set and memory organization by software.

     

    All relevant commands for emulating cards can be found in the PN512 data sheet [1]. Most interesting might be page 48.
