Measuring power going through an AC line?

vish
vish over 11 years ago

He element14,

I'm building a project in which I want to measure the power going to an appliance( say my TV ). What kind of sensors are available for this? Will that be enough to measure the current and multiply it with voltage( which in most of the cases we know )? And how much power factor is going to affect my measurements? Currently I can't afford a costly sensor, something basic will do for my proof-of-concept demos. Any product links will be appreciated.

Thanks ahead,

vish
