Raspberry Pie wifi to/from TV to allow laptop content

Can the Raspberry Pie work with TEXAS INSTRUMENTS - CC3100BOOST - BOOSTERPACK CC3100 SIMPLELINK WIFI [or limilar] to allow laptop wifi link to TV. Will then do away with hard cabling if this is feasible.

I'm new to Raspberry Pie but have a good tech background. Your help will be very much appreciated...

Why wouldn't you just use something like this to add a wireless adapter to your Pi?

As far as the TV connection and streaming, I don't know.

I guess you didn't really mention streaming. I don't where I got that, but using the adapter I listed you could ssh into your Pi from your laptop.
