Web Cam or Camera Module!

I was wondering what would be the best approach to add video to the PI. I know there are modules available and I can also use webcam. But my issue is keeping the connector free for other modules.. Just wondering..

Web cam can work fine so long as it is USB and you plan on a powered hub. You do not say the usage patterns or operating system for the Pi. This would affect the choices since a driver would be needed.
