Question about the EAGLE Make - Personal with Raspberry Pi 2 offer

Timon

If I purchased this offer for $169 and I decide it runs to slow and I want to download the Mac version will I be able to use the same key code and then dump the Raspberry Pi version?

Thanks

John

    Hi John,

It is bundled with a Raspberry Pi 2, but it doesn't run on the Raspberry Pi. EAGLE runs on x86 platforms (Raspberry Pi is ARM based, not x86).

    Hi Shabaz,

as a matter of fact I think we should consider Eagele as what it is: an instrument and it is normal that it works on a different machine than the target . Just like Android can be developed almost with a PC and a lot of other micro controllers,. Not only, but also the case of the Gizmo2 is an Intel based platform that is at least very difficult to develop locally.

With Eagle there is the advantage that you can use this CAD to make any kind of circuit you want, despite the Raspberry PI. I think this is more a marketing operation than a real "bundle" as we are used to consider it.

    Enrico

This was put together to provide the hardware development bundle which includes the software to further develop OSHW around the Pi platform HATs which is a little more complex (has connectivity etc) ...its pretty neat and EAGLE is fairly easy to use.
