Hello! I recently found some old computer mice in the garage. When I opened one of them, I found the chip "PIC1C58A," and I wanted to know if someone could give me an idea on what to do (build) with it.

To get started, go to Microchip's PIC16C58A product page . Read the datasheet and info to see the limitation of the chip, and then let your imagination go from there. By the way, it was used to monitor the movement of the mouse ball on 2 axis. Using it to monitor the 2 axis of a CNC router would be a good project. Also, odds are the chip has been write protected.
