I have been soldering wires together for a decade. The process is getting pretty old.
Is there a faster way to make a wiring harness? The application I am talking about is wiring stepper and servo motor cables. I do not want to use any crimping methods (they tend to come loose over time no matter how hard they are crimped.) Nor do I want to use a twist on method. Nothing clamped either.
Soldering is the only way. But is there a device that can let me put two wires into either side and they come out together?
Is this too much to ask?
In case there is no such beast, I will build my own. My concept is in the horrid drawing below:
A heated V shaped tray where 2 wires can be seated in, and a bit of solder placed on top. The tray melts the solder, joining the two wires. You move on.
Thoughts?
