Electric Power Entry Design and Safety

Hi All,

From Singapore here.

Any suggestion for house hold product on power entry design?

I have an device that use the power just after a bridge rectifier and some capacitor.

Are we allow to just use like this? Any safety issue for this?

Can I just use about 360VDC that convert from 240VAC home socket power outlet?

Thank for the help.

No you should not do this - there are lots of safety issues and until you have researched them in detail you should use a ready made isolating mains to DC converter with suitable safety markings (in the UK a CE mark at the very least) in Singapore it will be different.

What kind of device are you making ?

We currently in the process making LED light system. Now using valley fill circuit or simple ac-dc circuit.

It working nicely but just worry about safety issue when it for production process.

FYI, our maximum current rating just 300mA max.

Now in a process of testing the dimming function using mosfet. Burn few of them image

    Any suggestion?

if you are working on a production design for sale to the public I suggest you hire  a local expert who can advise you on regulatory and safety issues.
