What h/w and s/w to use for this

Hello friends,

I am new to this micro computers and controllers, so apologies for basic questions.

I want to create a small keyfob, that has 2 led's red and green, and 3 buttons, open, close and status, on a small keyfob (like a quarter, maybe twice the thickness), that I can point to my garage door from 2 feet to 20 feet, and open it or close it, and use the status button to check if it is already open or close.

Please advise how it can be done, and if you can do it,

And if you can build one for me.

I hear that the keyfob should send rotating codes to avoid record and replay hacks.

Thanks in advance.

That's very cost-effective! Bring my own chair, uniform and cap

    Hello,

Can you tell me what typically goes into such remotes from a hardware perspective, typical cost of such hardware if brought OEM.

Also, the software that goes with the hardware, and what kind of engineers can write that program.

Do you know about the encryption that is used?

Also, how about the garage side. What h/w and s/w goes into that side?

Most importantly, will you be able to build one? (both hw and sw)?

    thanks in advance.

garage door opener remote unit and receiver pair sell for $18 and up.

You can get an idea of what is in them by searching for

garage door opener circuit design images

often there is no software, codes are hardware encoded in these cases

What exactly are you up to? Do you want to design and make a garage door opener just as a learning exercise? or is it a college project? or do you want to go into business making them?

    Peter,

Yes, the idea is to build a new product for business. Would you be interested? Do you have experience with such devices?

    Which parts can you build?

    Initially, I need a prototype.

The first thing I need is a keyfob, that has the 3 buttons, open , close, and status, and the 2 led status buttons.

    thanks

I have a lot of experience but no-one is going to design a product for you. You need a marketing plan to start a business based on the purchase and sale of your chosen product. A good place to start is alibaba to purchase the kit you want to sell:
