Developing a Doctor Assistant Kit using LabVIEW- Introduction & Abstract

Hi Everyone, i will be posting a series of blogs in next couple of days describing the insights of my project  " Smart Doctor Assistant Kit using LabVIEW". In the process, I will be sharing the key insights of LabVIEW that i have learned during this entire design. I will begin with a brief abstract of what i am designing and what is the idea behind choosing this project.

The medical treatment and diagnosis of patients in INDIA, especially in rural areas are adversely affected due to lack of infrastructure and a low patient to doctor ratio. This project aims at developing a suitable doctor assistant system for detecting basic health parameters such as blood pressure, ECG, SpO2 etc. required by the doctor prior to diagnosis. This medical system assists the doctor in carrying out medical tests in a synchronized manner thereby providing quick results and generating a pre test report simultaneously. A variety of sensors including temperature, pressure, oxygen level, ECG, heart rate, height and weight sensors have been incorporated in the system to generate a pre- diagnostic report. The sensors are integrated using LabVIEW through microcontroller to provide a GUI based environment and monitoring parameters are displayed on the LabVIEW front panel. An early diagnosis report of every patient consisting of name, age, height, weight, blood pressure, SpO2, heart rate and ECG will be generated and stored for future use. This system can assist doctors to directly jump to main diagnosis with the pre diagnostic report readily available.
