dsPIC33EP512MU814 Plug-In-Module
Processor Plug-In Modules are small circuit boards to be used with the various Microchip Development Boards to evaluate various MCU families. These plug into the main processor socket of the Development Boards so that different microcontrollers can be used for prototyping, demonstration or development quickly and easily.
The dsPIC33EP512MU814 Motor Control PIM (MA330025-3) is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the dsPIC33EP512MU814 device using development boards such as the dsPICDEM™ MCLV, MCHV, and MCSM Development Boards (DM330021, DM330023, and DM330022), which support 100-pin PIM interfaces.
This plug-in module comes with a 144-pin dsPIC33EP512MU814-I/PT device. The dsPIC33E device contain a Peripheral pin Select (PPS) feature that allows most of the digital peripherals to be remapped to use any number of pins on the device. Because the dsPIC33EP512MU814 device has 144-pins and the PIM socket only routes 100 pins down to the Explorer 16 board, 75 I/O pins are additionally routed to test points on top of the PIM PC Board. Designers can utlized the PPS feature with these I/O pins to customize the functionality of the PIM.NOTICE for the use of this PIM with the MCHV Dev board (DM330023): The MCHV Development board, PN DM330023 Rev 4 or earlier must be upgraded to support the dsPIC33E Family of Devices.
