BeaglePlay
BeaglePlay is an open-source single board computer designed to simplify the process of adding sensors, actuators, indicators, human interfaces, and connectivity to a reliable embedded system. It features a powerful 64-bit, quad-core processor and innovative connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, sub-GHz wireless, and single-pair Ethernet with power-over-data-line. With compatibility with 1,000s of off-the-shelf add-ons and a customized Debian Linux image, BeaglePlay makes expansion and customization easy. It also includes ribbon-cable connections for cameras and touch-screen displays, and a socket for a battery-backed real-time-clock, making it ideal for human-machine interface designs. With its competitive price and user-friendly design, BeaglePlay provides a positive development experience for users.
BeaglePlay offers a simplified Beagle development experience and connectivity beyond what is possible with today’s WiFi or Ethernet. Based on a Texas Instruments AM625 quad-core, 64-bit Arm Cortex-A53 processor, BeaglePlay brings more toys to the game than just processing power. Ready to use with pre-programmed on-board flash, full-sized HDMI connection, built-in WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet, all the bases are covered.
BeaglePlay goes further with software-defined, long-range, low-power wireless to work with its BeagleConnect Freedom companion device or another BeaglePlay up to 1km away! For reliable, wire-based connectivity, BeaglePlay adds single-pair Ethernet that can provide power and data over just two wires over long distances.
For simplified expansion, BeaglePlay can work with over 1,000 different add-ons, without any custom wiring, using mikroBUS, Grove and QWIIC sockets.
Linux computing made simple and fun with 1,000s of available off-the-shelf sensors, actuators, indicators and connectivity options over mikroBUS, Grove, and QWIIC connections, a TI Sitara AM625 system-on-chip with 1.4GHz quad-core Arm Cortex-A53, PRU and M4 microcontrollers, Gigabit Ethernet, full-size HDMI, USB, 5GHz, 2.4GHz and sub-1GHz wireless, and single-pair Ethernet with power-over-data-line. Camera and touchscreen display ribbon-cable connectors also included.
No breadboarding expertise needed to expand this system, just connect, power, and leverage the massive ecosystem of Linux drivers. Want a remote sensor? Utilize BeagleConnect® technology over the sub-1GHz IEEE 802.15.4 wireless network to a BeagleConnect® Freedom up to 1km away.
