PSoC 4 Pioneer Kit Community Project#074 – PSoC Creator Training 110

cy.wbz
cy.wbz over 12 years ago

Hello!

The other week we had a nice series of basic workshop examples  showing the user how to use the PSoC 4 silicon and Pioneer kit. For this next week we will showcase a number of examples and videos that provide training on PSoC Creator.

For the PSoC 3 and PSoC 5LP families we created a number of online training videos to help teach the new user how to use PSoC Creator and develop custom components. We understand there can often be a learning curve when it comes to PSoC Creator and diving deeper into what makes a PSoC so powerful.

For this series we will be posting a number of PSoC Creator training videos. While these training videos may cover the PSoC 3 and PSoC 5LP families we are providing the training video example projects for PSoC 4 devices. These videos focus more on how to use PSoC Creator for more complex example, than the specific silicon. Please feel free to follow the training to recreate the example project.

This example was created to target the CY8CKIT-001 and CY8CKIT-038 processor modules. The example can easily be changed to map to the Pioneer kit by changing the pin selections.

At the bottom of this post we are including the following items:

  • Example Project Zip File

Components Used:

The user can download the example project at the bottom of this post. The project uses the following list of Creator Components:

  • Count3
  • Not Gate
  • CyPins
  • CyClock

Firmware Description:

The main.c firmware is included in the example project. Please review the commented sections for more details.

For this series we will be linking the PSoC 4 example below. Please take the time to watch the PSoC Creator training video.

PSoC Creator 110 – Schematic Components

Hardware Connections:

There is no specific hardware connections for this series. We are recreating the training examples for the PSoC 4 family. Feel free to map the pin outs to the Pioneer board to visualize any functionality.

Test Your Project:

Please follow the linked training materials and design your project.

I hope this example can help you in your design.

Best,

Matt

    Jesus,

If you navigate to the Components tab you can see the underlying schematic layout for the Count3. Here the LUT has a clock input.

    Does this answer your question?

    Thanks,

    Jesus,

You are correct. When it doubt check out the datasheet (button in the bottom left). I can't remember all of the configurations for each component and I always go to the DS first. I'll be posting another example today diving deeper into custom components.

    Hi Matt,

A good clear tutorial for learning how to build circuits within thePsoc environment.
