PSoC Creator 3.0 Now Available!

Hello!

 

I just wanted to let everyone on the forum know that we've got a new version of PSoC Creator out. This is version 3.0, which is an upgrade to PSoC Creator 2.2 CP6.

 

You can download this newest version at the following web page:

On that web page they have details on the new features. The most notible features are the improved Editor, new and updated components, support for exporting projects to ARM IDEs, and support for the GCC ARM Embedded version 4.7 compiler.

    What's new in PSoC Creator 3.0?

     

    Optimized Code Size

    PSoC Creator 3.0 integrates the GCC ARM Embedded version 4.7 compiler and the Newlib-nano libraries. These tools are highly optimized to reduce the generated code size in ARM CortexTm-M class processors like PSoC 4 and PSoC 5LP. Also included is the CMSIS 3.2 Core Peripheral Library and support for CMSIS-SVD.


    Improved Firmware Editor

    Component API documentation has always been available within PSoC Creator, but with the new Auto-complete features, the dynamically generated APIs can be found without having to open the Component Datasheets. Auto-complete, go to definition, a code explorer window, inline diagnostics, disabled code identification and automatic indenting are all now available in PSoC Creator 3.0.


    Export to Top ARM IDEs

    PSoC Creator 3.0 can now export seamlessly to IAR, KEIL, and Eclipse IDEs. Design hardware in PSoC Creator, automatically generate the system datasheet, and develop firmware in the IDE of your choice.


    Easier Custom Component Development

    Developing Custom Components in Verilog for the PSoC's Universal Digital Blocks (UDBs) has always been supported within PSoC Creator. PSoC Creator 3.0 makes that process easier by adding the new UDB Editor including a full state machine diagramming tool.


    Improved Search Capabilities

    The Cypress Component Catalog now includes over 110 PSoC Components. PSoC Creator 3.0 implements an updated search on-the-fly algorithm to make finding components easier. PSoC Creator 3.0 also adds the ability to view and copy example code without having to first open a project.
