Tango looks to release powerful micro-PC through crowd funding

Tango micro-pc.  (via indiegogo)

Tired of having all those desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones and gaming consoles cluttering up valuable space? Then perhaps Tango’s powerful micro-PC is the answer, which is purported to be the world’s most ‘powerful, pocketable, officeable, entertainmentable’, well you get the idea. Actually, their mini-PC is pretty impressive even though it’s still in the development stage and considering the power its packing in such a small form factor, it’s sure to give SBCs a run for their money. Packed into Tango PCs metal enclosure roughly the size of a smartphone, is an impressive array of hardware, including an AMD A6-5200 2GHz quad-core processor APU with integrated 8400 GPU, 2 to 8GB of DDR3-1600 of RAM and 32 to 512GB mSATA SSD storage. The included docking station (others may be used) is outfitted with all of the connections needed for hooking up any peripherals that may be needed, such as HDMI, 3 USB2.0 ports, 1 USB3.0 port, RJ45 as well as an internal Wi-Fi adapter, which allows users to take the micro-PC anywhere. The unique aspect about Tango’s mini-PC is that it can be upgraded when needed, allowing users to install increased RAM or Storage along the same lines as upgrading a laptop or notebook. Sadly, the processor and GPU do not fall into this category but that does not detract from the PCs overall greatness. As an extra-added bonus, users can install the OS of their flavor to run on the tiny computer, including Windows 7/8.1 (certified), Linux flavor of choice and even Chrome for those looking for simplicity. Tango is currently crowd-funding their PC on Indigogo and have received over $30,000 towards their goal of $100,000 with 27 days left to go. Those looking to get their hands on one (including the docking station) can pledge $299 for the basic package, which has a delivery date of April 2014.
