23 Apr 2013

Drumroll, please.....Today through April 25th in San Jose

element14 is pleased to kick off a celebration of the birth of the newest member of the BeagleBone family, the BeagleBone Black. The fun starts today with Texas Instruments’ unveiling details of the product, a lower-cost, high-expansion focused BeagleBoard using a low cost SitaraTm AM3358 ARMRegistered CortexTm-A8 processor at the DESIGN West show in San Jose. You can find more product details here.

One of Newark element14's exciting events will be “Beagles and Boards and Raspberry Pi, Oh My!,” an overview of the hottest open source hardware and software including the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, the Next Generation BeagleBone, and the ARM mbed enabled platform and what makes them unique.

Where's Boris?

While electronics design engineers, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals are learning all there is know about the BeagleBone in this exciting hands-on session, Texas Instruments will be engaging show attendees in a game of “Where’s Boris” much like the game “Where’s Waldo” that we all know and love. Boris, the Texas Instruments' Beagle mascot,  will be hiding, and it will be up to event attendees to find him.

April 30th - BeagleBone Black Unboxed at Google + Hangout

Tune in at 9 am. CST as element14 and a Texas Instruments representative discuss the next gen Beaglebone and talk through its features.

April 30th – May 2nd - "Where's Boris?" Comes to element14

Starting April 29th, the “Where’s Boris” game will move to the Community, where members will have a chance to find him. THREE LUCKY WINNERS WILL RECEIVE A BEAGLEBONE BLACK  FOR FINDING BORIS! Stay tuned for more details.

DATE TBD

The Leeds, England and Pumping Station: One Chicago Hackerspaces will go head to head in a battle over which Hackerspace can prodcue the most innovative BeagleBone design. More details to come!
