Hi Josh
We have been developing UWP apps in C# for Windows IOT for a few years now and want to move to a platform that is better supported in the future, seems Microsoft has given up on the newer Raspberry pi boards.
NXP seem to be supporting BSP's for i.MX 6, i.MX 7, and i.MX 8M family boards.
Windows IOT allows us to launch a single application in a controlled Kiosk mode as such, without having to go for Windows 10 IOT Enterprise.

Hi Josh
We received the two boards we ordered today, great turn around seeing a lot of deliveries are delayed.due to the coronavirus.
Nice little board and Booted up Linux image with no issues.
Do you have a time line on when a FFU will be available for Windows IOT?
I do not want to hassle you but is it likely to be weeks or months?
Thanks
Sean
Hi Sean,
I received approval for posting over the weekend. It will be posted on E14 by EOW.
In the mean time you can get it from here if you wish to get started sooner https://avtinc.sharepoint.com/:b:/t/ET-Downloads/EZy9kZdstDNCkt_9_mdgHawBDlQdJZWbNFmnd0F4ArsX5Q
Thanks!

Hi Josh
Well that was not too bad and VS created FFU with no errors.
Sorry to say though that it does not boot.
Burnt FFU onto SD card using Windows Dashboard.
All partitions created as expected.
Place the SD card into the Maaxboard and power up, green LED flashes once and then nothing
Do you guys have a FFU that has already been created that I can test?
Best regards
Sean
Just had another go on a different machine.
Clean install of VS 2017 and installed all the extras.
Builds great and outputs FFU file, but still no boot.
Have attached build log. and also uploaded to our server here http://ukcnc.net/MaaxBoard_iMX8M_2GB_TestOEMInput.xml.Release.ImageApp-log.zip

Hi Sean,
I had to request a colleagues help on this issue. I am hopful to get it available to you this week. I am currently asking for an update on any progress. I'll let you know where we are on it come tomorrow.
Thanks for being patient!

Hi Sean,
I got this back from my colleague today.
"
I have been able to fix the boot issue, and pushed the new bootloader bits onto the github repo.
I have identified on my board that the following sequence need to be applied before powering up the board :
And when powering down I have to remove the power cable and also the HDMI cable before being able to restart the board.
Also if the green led, located close to the 3 switches, is not on then for sure the platform won’t boot.
The First boot is pretty long and consecutive boots are much more shorter.
"
I will be testing the new commit myself this evening.

Hi Josh
Sorry to say that getting errors on the two computers that successfully compiled before with the new merge from Github.
Even deleted local repository and re cloned to make sure it was clean. But compile errors.
Is there a link to a FFU that you guys have compiled that I can download to test.

Sean
Cleaned down Visual Studio again and got it to compile.
FFU created and works !
No apps run as all compiled for ARM and not ARM64 so now got to work out in Visual Studio how to get ARM64 to appear.
But at least it is up and running.
Thanks Josh !

Hi Josh
Managed to change VS to compile our applications to ARM64 and all compile and load onto the Maaxboard under Windows 10 IOT.
GPIO serial port does not enumerate and a view display quirks.
I know it is early days, so think we will leave using the Maaxboard till things are more along the way.
