pcDuino v3

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

I just noticed that a new pcDuino with an A20 SoC will be released soon. I have a pcDuino v1 and an A20-Olinuxino-Micro, so this board may be of interest to me.  I'd be curious to know if anyone is working on a board with an A31 or A80 SoC.  I know Allwinner has an A80 board that they provide to tablet developers, but I don't think just anyone can buy one.

The PCDuino v3 seems like it could be interesting as it now has SATA and gigabit ethernet. Thanks for pointing it out.

From what I've read over on the linux-sunxi mailing list it seems that neither A31 or A80 will have SATA and as such they are much less interesting. There are however patches being submitted for A31 which suggest there are boards available somewhere.

The only A80 one that appears to be around is the Optimus http://liliputing.com/2013/12/allwinner-a80-optimus-board.html but I've no idea if they're available to buy anywhere as yet.

A80 also seems to use a PowerVR GPU, that likely means Android will be the only useful choice of OS unless you don't want a display image

I have already got the board, but they call it pcDuino3 not pcDuino v3.

It is available at sainsmart and LinkSprite for $77.99, a little expensive than raspberrypi.

Anyway, if you take it as a pc, then it is totally worth the price.
