SBC GigE throughput solution?

I am looking for a single board computer that is capable of achieving the high end of throughput of a gigabit Ethernet connection (around 945Mbit/s).   I have an application where the network throughput needs to be occasionally tested and recorded.  It will only need to run a speed test, no file transfers.

I have done some extensive searching and am not finding many solutions.

The smaller the board the better, but I would like to know if anybody has any recommendations as to what could be a solution?

    Hi David,

    Many switches/routers can automatically generate traffic and measure delay/jitter etc (known as IP-SLA). (Just a quick suggestion, in case it meets your needs).

    SBC's with GigE are few and far between. Your throughput requirement rules out current i.MX6 based boards which have an internal bottleneck that limits ethernet throughput to ~480Mbps aggregate.

    Currently the other choice I'm aware of would be the CubieTruck, but the previous testing didn't suggest it was capable of what you're looking for either.

    I have a much newer kernel on my CT now, so it might be worth re-testing....  after a quick retest with a 3.13-rc6 sunxi-devel kernel I'm seeing ~940Mbps receive, but only 600Mbps transmit using the same tests as that thread. There may be ways to improve that such as using netperf with multiple threads/streams running across different cores
