Start up SBC in Brazil

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

Hi all,

this is my first post.

I am Brazilian, live and work in UK as System's Analyst for an investment bank.  I am about to give up my "wonderful" career and go back to Brazil and open a small company to design, build and market a Raspberry-like sbc,

As we have many from China, Europe and US, its time for South America to have its own device.

I am looking for some Crazy guys willing to start something from scratch, of course at the beginning it would be no pay, but I have a strategy to sell a lot if we manage to create something great.

Is there anyone interested ?

Perhaps you could elaborate on what exactly you plan to create?

Hey Fred,  good question,  there are just too many indeed, but South America has something that is not very common for Europe and USA, we have a NASTY CUSTOMS, any hardware made abroad receives a huge TAX fee, just an example for you.

A Raspberry Pi 3 if I buy in a formal market, it would have a price tag of  £150 pounds ( board, case and power supply).

I am not really interested of creating something incredible new, but if we build something solid, you can imagine the potential!

hocosta. This is a great idea. Could I suggest you approach your government especially the Education as well as Trade And Industry Departments. You would need an angle that would interest them both where this could add value as well have an economic growth element to it.

This way it could have a skills and employment spin on it as well as attract some foreign investment possibilities.

But this is a dream you should follow up on and see it through to the end.

Best of luck for this idea/venture.

    YV.
