BeagleBone Blue Pan Tilt Servo Test

This is a simple test of the Beaglebone Blue Robotics Controller with a Pan/Tilt Camera Mount. The micro servos that came with the Pan/Tilt are not that great for precision control but will suffice for the purpose of this test. These servos will likely be replaced with higher grade servos at a later time.

I would also like to mention, the BB Blue is being powered by a 12V 2.5A Power Supply. The BB Blue is meant to be powered by a Li-Ion Battery. The battery should arrive in a few days.

That's awesome, having an all-in-one Linux board with wireless and the full capability to control servos/motors. Nice demo vids with the stormtroopers and rocky terrain : )

Hey Shabaz, Thanks very much for checking out this post. So far, the BB Blue is the most fun that I've had with a SBC. It's very easy to get started with. This Pan Tilt servo test is one of multiple tests…

    Hi Trent,

It does look awesome! The demo by Jason Kridner was really cool, and seeing the visualisation of the control parameters on the screen. It looks like a lot of fun to play with.

    Hi Shabaz,

In one of your videos on YouTube there was a demonstration of the BB Blue with the EDUMIP robot kit. Thanks for sharing that post. Your videos are awesome!

I tried to order that robot kit but payment was declined, likely for card type. I will have to use a  different payment type at a later time.

The EDUMIP looks like a great design for balancing robot. Very low cost in comparison to other robotics kits.

Thanks very much for checking out this post.

So far, the BB Blue is the most fun that I've had with a SBC.  It's very easy to get started with.

This Pan Tilt servo test is one of multiple tests  that will be performed on the BB Blue. I am awaiting the arrival of components that will be tested.

The chassis featured in the photo has been constructed specifically for this RT from a hacked New Bright RC Truck. As soon as the 2-pin JST-ZH jumpers arrive, the motor and a steering servo will be connected to the BB Blue.

If the BB Blue makes the cut, next step will likely be the construction of a quadcopter for aerial photography
