I've recently spent a great deal of time trying to get the BB-View working with the BBB. A lot has been written about it here, including one post with 135 replies, and still counting. Clearly the BB-View has major problems with support in Linux.
It works OK as a display with a variety of kernels (I have put my notes on BeagleBone Setup for BB-View if anyone is interested). I haven't been able to get the touch input working reliably. It appears to have trouble getting accurate position measurements and I suspect this may even be an issue with electrical noise. The unit is currently sitting on my top shelf waiting for the day I may need a display of that size. The 4D Systems' BeagleBone Black 7.0" LCD Cape does what I was wanting and does it well.
My question is simple - has anyone managed to get the BB-View touch input working? If so, could you please let us know how this was done. Otherwise maybe the unit needs to be reclassed as a display only device.
