Element 14 BeagleboneBlack Not Booting From SD?

Question

I just recieved my Beaglebone Black (Elemtn14) in the mail. I proceded to remove (format) the EMMC of the beaglebone.

Then, I wrote the "android 4.4.4 AOSP" img to my micro sd card. I held the S3 (user boot) button while I plugged it in, but none of the status indicators lit up. Then I tried doing the same with the ubuntu image, but still nothing.

I even tried with another SD card, and nothing works. And I can't boot from EMMC, either, because I removed that.

Help?
