BeagleBone black does not boot by kernel panic

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

After a few weeks using my new BBB it suddenly stop booting.

Apparently the problem is because I'm using older versions or because I have connected devices at the boot moment.

Now, I did check these newer releases connecting only the power supply to the BBB.

     BBB-eMMC-flasher-debian-7.7-lxde-armhf-2014-12-31-2gb.img

The sequence of LEDS start blinking but abruptly only the User LED 2 remains on, whenever I try booting from flash, SD card or flashing.

I'll appreciate some enlightenment.

Arturo

I am waiting to get one of these soon. Maybe then I can give a definitive answer. Guessing it looks like the kernel panic on networking:

    [    2.694428] Detected MACID = d0:39:72:40:c6:aa

    [    2.699039] Unhandled fault: external abort on non-linefetch (0x1008) at 0xe0

    [    2.707366] Internal error: : 1008 [#1] SMP THUMB2

Please. I would try to remove all hardware not necessary save for monitor and keyboard. No mouse, wireless or USB. BTW, is this the original eMMC card? Or an SD card you made? Try for original as much as possible. If it works, we can add something step by step to find what is wrong.

    Thanks,

    Clem

I'am trying both, the onboard eMMC and a SD card that I made  with the latest firmware releases.

In fact I have nothing connected to the BBB except the external power supply.

Do you recommend a specific release implemented in a specific way?  I can try something you may suggest.

    Thanks,
