BB-CAPE-DISP-CT43 LCD not working with customized kernel on BBB

Hi,

We have tested the BB-CAPE-DISP-CT43 LCD with the default image and is working fine. However, when we customize the kernel the LCD is not working, its showing white screen.

Can you please suggested the steps to add the LCD and kernel customization for BBB.

Hi Sreekanth,

There's a very old discussion of it here: https://groups.google.com/g/beagleboard/c/QBL2ptvhuWI?pli=1 but I doubt any link has up-to-date information since these parts are quite mature. You may have to just extrapolate from the older information.

The person there does mention they got it working with the driver source referred to at that link. If you get it working, please share the steps in detail to help others.

As usual with beagleboard you're expected to know how to handle these and be able to patch them in.

Thanks shabaz and cstanton for your response.

Will go though the links shared and get back to you.

In our final application we will will using a 7 inch LCD without touch screen. However, for testing we are using the BB-CAPE-DISP-CT43 LCD which is working with the original image.

In our final application we need I2C port 1 and 2, SPI and all the UART ports to be enabled to communicate with different modules. For this reason we are customizing the kernel.
