TV hdmi behaviour changed after connecting BeagleBone Black

Hello everyone,

I seem to have a problem with my TV hdmi input. I have been using it with my laptop and raspberry pi for a while now and it was working without any problems.

Then I tried connecting BBB to it. After some flickering it stabilized and worked fine. However, now TV doesn't recognize my laptop (nor laptop sees my TV).

The interesting thing is that Rpi works fine on it.

At first I thought that my laptop drivers gone bad or smth, but I wiped and reinstalled all drivers many times - still the same. Laptop works with other hdmi devices fine.

I also tried resetting TV settings to defaults. But I think that just resets user settings, not HDMI settings.

So, could beaglebone black damage hdmi input in some way? Or change some 'handshake' settings between the devices?

Tried searching the internet for help, but all advice I can find is "reinstall drivers", "change to extended display mode" and etc..

UPDATE:

So technitian told be that electrostatic fields can damage hdmi. This happens when hdmi devices are plugged in powered state. What often happens is some part of memory of hdmi controller gets erased and it is unable to connect to SOME devices, but others might still work fine. In order to repair the TV, hdmi controller memory needs to be reflashed and this cannot be done by software update.

I still think that this is the wrongdoing of BBB, because I have been extensively plugging and unplugging many hdmi devices on my TV without any faults. First connection with BBB and this happens. But it still might be a coinsidence...
