[video tutorial] Install XBMC via Android on the RiOT board

i keep trying and all i keep getting after my install is "error cannot parse CPU features" but this is after a succesfful install and may I add that i succeffully installed kodi on my riotboard a year ago..now all of a sudden its not working.. and ive tried jarvis, isengard, and gotham... no luck. and there is no support for this board, not in the forums or on the actual riotboard site.. so basically anyone who buys this board is on their own.. ive been doing it for a year ive learned alot but its stressful.. all i want is to install kodi and this dumb board wont let me...

Good to know. I already thought there´s something wrong with my board or with the image.

I also think that a Linux Distribution instead of Android would be better for this.

I have overall the feeling that the Android image isn´t really optimized for the riotboard.

With 1080p output (connected directly to a HDMI monitor) it runs just really slow.

I am using the latest Android image available on the RiOT page.

After reading your message, I double checked and I also noticed some lags testing with others videos, it seems that Fast and Furious 6 trailer was a lucky video ;D

The H/W decoder might not be properly used by the XBMC app for Android.

On the XBMC forum, I received several recommendations to try Openelec and Geexbox distributions so I will keep you updated with my evaluations

I tried the exact same thing yesterday.

But my experience wasn´t nearly that good.

In 720p output resolution the picture was freezing every 2 seconds. Even with low res video material.

And in 1080p it wasn´t smooth at all.

Not usable like that. No matter if streaming over ethernet, from internal flash or USB flash drive.

Now I´m wondering which Android image you´re using.
